The first virtual session of History and Theoretical Principles of Conservation and Restoration working group was held On ICOM IRAN Conservation Commission instagram platform on Wednesday, 19th August 2020.
ICOM-CC IRAN Public Relations Dept.: The second session of the virtual meetings of the IRAN ICOM Conservation Commission with the aim of introducing the History and Theoretical Principles of Conservation and Restoration Working Group was held live at 6pm 19th August 2020 on instagram with the participation of Dr. Rasool Vatandoust (Commission chairman) and Dr. Parisa Abdollahi, the head of the History and Theoretical Principles of Conservation and Restoration Working Group.
In the beginning of the meeting, Dr. Rasool Vatandoust briefly explained the Iran ICOM-CC and its 12 working groups and its programs. Then, Dr. Abdollahi explained the responsibilities and goals of the history and theoretical principles of conservation and restoration working group, and afterward gave a brief overview of the implementation process of the main projects of the Iran ICOM-CC , along with introducing the supervisor of each project.
Accordingly, Mr. Hamzeh Hamzeh is the monthly journal person-in-charge; Ms. Zahra Nikouei is in charge of the Encyclopedia section; Dr. Soodabeh Yousefnejad is in charge of the database (written sources and personalities); Ms. Bersabeh Salek Azad is in charge of seminars and conferences, and Ms. Parvin Soleimani is in charge of organizing scientific lectures. She further stated that presently nine conservation terms are being studied for the encyclopedia consisting of: 1-cultural heritage, 2-cultural properties, 3-Conservation, 4-Restoration, 5I, 6-Integration, 7-Reintegration, 8-Authenticity 9-Endowment.
Beside theabove- mentioned activities, this working group holds monthly virtual meetings through WhatsApp to discuss various issues in the field of theoretical principles of conservation and restoration, and the results are presented in a section of the monthly journal entitled “A short talk in the domain of theory (gapi dar vadi-e nazar).
In conclusion, Dr. Abdollahi thanked the helpful guidance of Dr. Vatandoust and all members of the History and Theoretical Principles of Conservation and Restoration Working Group, as well as the Secretariat’s members of Iran ICOM-CC IRAN. She also invited all conservators and restorers to share their valuable experiences with this Working Group and lend their collaboration to the team.
